That word “welcome” cannot be used enough and at Wherry Hotel we endeavour to give all of our guests a warm welcome. Our singular goal is to make your visit as comfortable as we can. Our welcome is from all of the faces you will see assisting you throughout your journey, including my own, to those you do not see.
There are a number of pointers in this directory but please contact any one of us for anything else or further assistance.

Our Suffolk Recommendations
Welcome to Oulton Broad, a charming village nestled in the heart of Suffolk! We are delighted to share some local recommendations to enhance your stay in this picturesque area.
Carlton & Oulton Marshes (Suffolk Wildlife Trust)
A stunning 1,000‑acre wetland reserve with boardwalks, birdwatching hides, and rare species. Ideal for gentle walks, photography, and spotting marsh harriers and otters.
Nicholas Everitt Park
A beautiful waterfront park featuring gardens, a boating lake, tennis courts, play areas, and summer events. Perfect for picnics and leisurely strolls along the Broad.

Assistance (24-hr Reception)
Reception is staffed 24 hours. From 11pm to 7am the Night Porter will cover Reception to deal with any emergency enquiries.
Bars
Our bar is located on the ground floor at the front of the hotel, provides a wide variety of beverages.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7am to 10am Monday to Friday and 8am to 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
Car Parking
We have an ample car park surrounding the hotel.
Checkout
Checkout time is 11am.
Church Services
Please contact Reception who will advise you on services and locations for religious worship.
Currency Conversion
The nearest bureau de change is at Asda in Lowestoft.
Dietary Requirements
If you have any special requirements please contact the manager on duty who will be happy to assist.
Dining (Lunch and Dinner)
There are several dining areas throughout the hotel, with the same menu available in each. Our opening times are Monday to Friday 12 – 9pm. Saturday and Sunday 12pm-9pm.
Directions
If you require directions our Reception team are happy to provide printed route maps and navigation on request.
Disabled Facilities
The hotel has one, purpose-designed, room for disabled guests. Please ask our Reception team – Info on accessible rooms, walk in showers, etc, accessible dining areas, etc.
Doctor, Dentist and Chemist
Should you require medical assistance, please inform Reception or call the local Doctors’ Surgery 01502 565936. James Paget University Hospital is located on Lowestoft Road in Gorleston-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR31 6LA. The nearest chemist can be found walking distance from our hotel and any dental emergency please call 01493 543144.
Emergency Services
Dial ‘999’ for the police, fire brigade or an ambulance. Please also call Reception to report the incident and for further assistance.
Fire Procedures
It is imperative that guests read the Fire Notice on the back of the bedroom door and familiarise themselves with the fire evacuation procedure and fire exits
Heating and Cooling
The heating comes on automatically. Fans are provided in the rooms.
Maintenance
Should you find anything not in working order, please report it to Reception and we will endeavour to repair it as quickly as possible.
No Smoking
Please be aware that the whole hotel, including all bedrooms, is non-smoking. The courtyard has designated areas for smoking. If guests are found to have smoked inside bedrooms, a minimum charge of £120.00 will be made to cover further cleaning and freshening of the room. Each room is fitted with a smoke detector which is very sensitive and will evacuate the whole hotel if triggered. Activation will incur further charges to the guests account.
Pets
Dogs are allowed in certain double bedrooms and lounge bar area to eat, please speak to our reception team for more details. Unfortunately, for the comfort of other guests, dogs (except guide dogs) are not allowed in the Restaurant. –
Security
Please ensure that your bedroom windows and doors are closed when you leave the room. We would like to draw your attention to the Hotel Proprietors Act displayed in the Reception area and regret to inform you that the hotel cannot be held responsible for the loss or damage to any guest’s property not handed in for safekeeping.
